Piers Morgan says he's still battling long Covid symptoms after 15 weeks

Piers Morgan has revealed he is still battling long Covid symptoms after 15 weeks.

The TV presenter, 56, took to his Twitter on Wednesday to inform his fans that the worst thing about the illness is that it's left him unable to taste "good wine and regular coffee".

He ranted: "Of all the many irritations of Long Covid, not least me banging on about it, an ongoing inability (15 weeks after infection) to taste good wine and regular coffee is the worst."

In the comments section, fans didn't sympathise with the former GMB host.

One person wrote: "At least you can breathe. Another good reminder for all to #GetVaccinated!"

"I think you’ll find, for the rest of us, you banging on about it is the worst," a second shared.

It comes after the controversial broadcaster publicly outed a man who sent a DM accusing him of flaunting his "gross lifestyle" on Instagram and suggested he had a small 'd***.'

Sharing a screenshot of the messages with his 8 million Twitter followers, Piers said: "This just about sums up my Instagram inbox," adding two laughing emoji faces at the end.

The man wrote: "Piers please stop reminding us how privileged you are. You are a journalist, not a surgeon, or a military general sacrificing all for Queen and Country.

"A scribbler, albeit it a very successful one. So stop sending IG pictures of your gross lifestyle during these difficult times for many.

"In short... Piers stop reminding us of how small your self esteem and d*** is!"

But in a surprise u-turn a few hours later, the man sent another message apologising to Piers for his outburst. His excuse? "I was drunk... sorry."

Luckily Piers saw the funny side – and fans were quick to point out that despite the troll’s harsh comments, he did have the decency to apologise.

One wrote: “At least he said sorry,” to which Piers replied: “True... haha.”

Another fan said: “The fact he reflected on this when sober (after putting so much effort into it when drunk) and felt it best to message again and apologise has made this rant even funnier for me.”

“Confused I follow you on Instagram and cannot remember a post where you reminded us of either of those points,” a third commented.

While a fourth joked: “Love it lol. Best hide my phone now I’m on the g&t.”
