Piers Morgan says he's been 'deleted' by GMB as he makes brief 'return' to show

Piers Morgan has said he's been 'deleted' by Good Morning Britain after he made a brief 'return' to the show.

The presenter, who dramatically left his role on the ITV news programme back in March, was speaking about the fact he has been long-listed in three categories at the National TV Awards (NTA's).

GMB has received a nod in the Daytime category but instead of showing a picture of Piers, Adil Ray and Kate Garraway has been used instead to illustrate the nomination.

Piers, who has also been nominated in the TV Presenter category as well as Factual for his ITV series Life Stories, tweeted about the news and couldn't help but dig at his former employer.

"Delighted to have been long-listed in three categories at the National TV Awards (even if I’ve been deleted from the last one).

"I’ve got no chance of winning, obviously, but voting for me would really irritate the usual winners: So feel free.. @OfficialNTAs."

GMB viewers may have also noticed Piers' brief 'return' to the show as he was seen in an array of clips alongside his former co-host Susanna Reid as they made their bid for votes on Wednesday's show.

The 56-year-old was seen in some of the programme's most memorable moments from over the past twelve months.

And fans appeared emotional about his reappearance.

"GMB showing clips of Piers had me almost crying, to be honest. I think I need some more coffee," tweeted one.

Another said: "Piers Morgan back on Good Morning Britain! I don’t know why, but I got a bit emotional seeing that. It’s not the same without him."

Piers claimed he "lost his job" on the news programme after refusing to apologise for his views on the Duchess of Sussex.

The controversial journalist and presenter said he "didn't believe" Meghan during her tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey back in March.

Since his exit, various presenters have stepped into the main hosting role including Adil Ray, Alastair Campbell and Bill Turnbull.
