Piers Morgan SAVAGED by Susanna Reid as he reveals he ‘can’t wait to get fired’ from Good Morning Britain

Piers Morgan found himself the target of a savaging by Susanna Reid after she poked fun at the number of times he has been fired from a job.

Morgan, 53, was boasting about his “long” C.V when his Good Morning Britain co-host slapped him down.

“Some of us stay in the same job for longer – because we don’t get sacked,” Reid said.

Not keen to let it drop, Reid quoted Morgan’s job application. Reading from the document, which features a picture of Morgan with President Donald Trump, she said: “You need someone whose reputation won’t be remotely tarnished by working with you and won’t mind in the slightest if you suddenly fire him.

Having a laugh: Piers Morgan was mocked by Susanna Reid (ITV)

“I’ve been fired from big jobs before and always found it both character building and financially lucrative.”

Morgan shrugged off the savaging and said he was looking forward to the day he would be fired from the ITV breakfast show.

Piers Morgan teases Susanna Reid over Steve Parish romance

“They give you a massive cheque and you go lie on a beach for a bit,” he said. “I can’t wait till that happens here. It will happen. People love to try and fire me.”

It comes days after Reid was left red-faced after Morgan teased her over her relationship with Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish.

Speaking on GMB, Morgan said: “If Arsenal keep winning I’m going to be a joy to work with. If it suddenly all goes pear-shaped, if lose against Man United on Wednesday it could be very nasty next week.

“You know what it’s like, you feel the same about [Crystal] Palace don’t you? It comes from the soul. It comes from the heart and the soul.

“Doesn’t it have the same feeling in your vital organs, Crystal Palace playing well, performance of the club?”

A blushing Reid agreed it “definitely does have an effect” before telling Morgan to “keep pushing those boundaries”.

Good Morning Britain is on ITV, weekdays at 6am
