Piers Morgan's wife Celia Walden throws shade at Trump as Joe Biden is inaugurated

Piers Morgan 's wife Celia Walden threw shade at Donald Trump as he officially left the White House and was replaced by Joe Biden.

The journalist, 45, joked Trump was going "straight in the bin" as Biden was inaugurated as the 46th President of the United States.

Taking to Instagram, she shared a picture of two edible lollipops that appeared to be Biden and Trump's faces.

She captioned it: "The one on the right is going straight in the bin. Anything that colour’s bound to be toxic. #suckonthatdonald #deliverance"

Good Morning Britain host Piers gave her post his seal of approval by liking it, although some of her fans questioned her views given that her husband has been friends with the former President for years.

Piers met Trump when he took part in the US version of Celebrity Apprentice and they've remained pals ever since, apart from a brief period where Trump unfollowed him on social media.

Despite their friendship, Piers hasn't held back his views when he has felt Trump was in the wrong.

Just this month, Piers publicly slammed Trump, criticising his address of the recent Capitol riots, which saw Trump supporters protesting Biden's election win.

Piers, 55, shared the video of Trump's speech, writing: "Disingenuous, a***-covering b******".

He later condemned Trump's "shameful legacy".

A tweet from Trump during the carnage asked for "everyone at the US Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the party of Law & Order - respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!"

Piers furiously responded: "Too f**king late."

He added: "A woman's been shot in this carnage and it's all on you. This is not reality TV, this is real life. Get on TV admit you lost the election, & call off this insanity. And then get out of the White House".

46th President Biden and his Vice President Kamala Harris were sworn in today at a ceremony with heightened security following the Capitol Hill riots.
