Piers Morgan's son weighs in on GMB clash with Alex Beresford

Piers Morgan's eldest son has weighed in on the debate which saw his father leave Good Morning Britain for good.

Piers and Bristol weatherman Alex Beresford clashed when discussing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Oprah interview.

Meghan said she had felt suicidal and wasn't given the help she asked for - but Morgan said he "didn't believe a word" she said.

His comments sparked outrage from celebrities and mental health charities alike, and racked up 41,000 Ofcom complaints.

And when challenged by Alex, Piers walked off the set of GMB - and it was later revealed he had left his role as host of the ITV show.

Following the dramatic events that unfolded midweek, Spencer gave a roundup of the his thoughts on Twitter, reports The Express.

He wrote: "Only direct thoughts on these: Harry/meg: stunning PR job, well played.

"Alex weatherman: always got on with him, can’t hate on a guy for taking such an easy chance to boost his career.

"Queen: [goat emoji - meaning Greatest Of All Time]

Finally he added: "The concept of debate: RIP."

Beresford warned Morgan about the “power of his words” when it came to criticising the royals.

“I’m not saying that you’re a racist,” he told his co-star on Tuesday, who abruptly hit back: “Well, what are you saying?”

He continued: “I understand that you don’t like Meghan Markle.

“You’ve made it so clear a number of times on this programme, and I understand that you had a personal relationship with Meghan and she cut you off.

"Has she said anything about you after she cut you off? She’s entitled to cut you off if she wants to. And yet you continue to trash her.”

At this point, the GMB host stood up and walked away from the set, saying: “OK, I’m done with this.”

Alex shook his head as he continued: “Do you know what? That’s pathetic. This is absolutely diabolical behaviour.”

But Morgan has seemingly let bygones be bygones and wished Alex luck in his future, while also revealing he and ITV "agreed to disagree" when it came to apologising for his remarks about Meghan, but insisted he and the broadcaster parted on "amicable terms".
