Piers Morgan's son rejects his apology after not seeing him for three months

Piers Morgan's son has rejected his apology after he grovelled on live TV about not seeing him for three months.

Spencer Morgan, 26, tweeted a video of his dad speaking about him on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday.

In the clip Piers read out his son's tweet that said: "When your dad hasn't seen you in person in nearly three months, cheers @PiersMorgan."

Piers, 55, explained that he had been speaking to all of his children on FaceTime but was looking forward to seeing them all when the coronavirus lockdown is over - as soon as he's been to the pub, that is.

He said: "I did say to you 'Look I'm sorry. Obviously I miss you and want to see you too after I've been to the pub.'

"The truth is I see my kids every day on FaceTime, I see my parents on FaceTime.

"I've seen more of my family face-to-face on FaceTime in the last four weeks in the past year."

Piers added that he missed beer more because he hasn't been able to drink in a pub.

"It is eating away at my soul," he continued. "Pint first kids later. They understand.

"Morning son, he won't be awake."

Spencer could be heard laughing in the video because he was awake and watching.

Susanna Reid said in the clip: "I miss you Spencer!"

But the apology wasn't good enough for him, he tweeted: "Not the apology I was hoping for @piersmorgan but best I'm gonna get.

"At least @susannareid100 has my back."
