Piers Morgan's luxurious Saint Tropez trip staggers fans with helicopter snap

Piers Morgan can't help but give his followers a glimpse at the high life.

He's taking some time out from Good Morning Britain, jetting out with his family to Place des Lices in Saint Tropez, France.

And he hasn't been shy about how he's living, giving followers a look at the villa where he's kicking back.

Yesterday he posted a snap of the garden as he basked in the sunshine with a cup of tea.

But today he upped the ante as he snapped a helicopter taking off from the house next door - which he says happens regularly.

Posting a snap of the chopper slipping across the sky from his garden, he wrote: "My new neighbour uses choppers like taxis.

"They land in his garden several times a day then whisk him off minutes later. This was him leaving again just now...no idea who he is or where he goes, but I find it fascinating."

Piers did receive a bit of online grief for travelling abroad after his coronavirus coverage, despite not breaking any rules.

"I'm a washed up, knackered, pathetic excuse for a celebrity...get me outta here," he wrote alongside a plane snap.

"Bye Britain, it's been...surreal."

And despite being away from GMB, it hasn't stopped his tweeting - seizing the opportunity to take a fresh swipe at Health Secretary Matt Hancock.

Piers has claimed - several times - that government ministers have been "boycotting" GMB out of fear of a grilling at his hands.

But Hancock made a reappearance on ITV yesterday to chat to Lorraine Kelly, Piers suggesting he wouldn't have done the interview were he still in the country.

He's developed a reputation amid the coronavirus crisis for his no-nonsense interview style - even racking up Ofcom complaints in the thousands.

The broadcasting regulator was hit with 600 complaints over Piers' combative interview with Hancock back in April.

Meanwhile, his interview with Care Minister Helen Whately saw more than 3,000 people lodge complaints.

He was cleared by Ofcom, who ruled that Piers had done nothing wrong and was performing his duty as a journalist during the interviews.
