Piers Morgan's fashion fail on GMB after admitting he's put on weight

Good Morning Britain's Piers Morgan revealed he had to slash the back of his jumper after putting on weight.

For the first time, Piers and Susanna are presenting GMB on Christmas Day.

At the start of the show, Susanna teases Piers when he confesses he had trouble fitting into his Christmas jumper this year, following months of lockdowns.

He said: “I always wear a silly jumper on Christmas and I’ve worn one here with penguins to reflect the fact that I often identify as a two-spirit penguin as you know…

"[It’s] a little tight, in fact, so tight they had to physically slash the back of the jumper. I’m not going to show you yet but I might do later once the mulled wine starts to kick in but..”

Susanna added: “The full reveal?

"Let’s just say it wasn’t quite big enough so Debbie, 'Debbie Dresses', we call her who normally works on dresses...had to come to me with a large pair of secateurs and just basically go 'csshhrrt' and so you know it sort of loosened things up a bit.”

Susanna adds: “Yes and I have put on, let's say quite a few pounds, in lockdown and over the year…”

Speaking to Joe Wicks the pair asked if he lets himself go over on Christmas Day after a year of helping keep the nation fit.

He confessed: “100%. Look on Christmas Day, I don’t do any exercise, eat as much as I can, then fall asleep, then wake up and go again and try to eat as much as I can. I love it.

"Christmas Day is all about food and being lazy and watching movies. I’m looking forward to getting stuck in later on.”
