Piers Morgan's extraordinary attack on BBC's 'nasty piece of work' Dan Walker

Piers Morgan slammed rival presenter Dan Walker as a "nasty piece of work fighting to get out" in a scathing takedown.

There has always been a rivalry between the presenters in the TV world.

And Piers, having quit Good Morning Britain, didn't miss the opportunity to deliver another blow to his BBC Breakfast rival.

The presenter blasted the star as a "nasty piece of work fighting to get out" in his latest attack.

He wrote in his Daily Mail column : "My supremely virtuous former breakfast TV show rival Dan ‘Halo’ Walker said about me today: ‘Underneath all the froth, I think there is a decent bloke fighting to get out.’

"Ironically, I’ve always thought that underneath all Dan’s faux saintly froth, there’s a nasty piece of work fighting to get out.

"And the one thing guaranteed to have him stamping on kittens is the knowledge that GMB finally overtook BBC Breakfast in the ratings, on his watch, on my last day."

Piers also criticised Dan's interview technique which he compared to "poodle-like simpering with Government Ministers".

His latest comments were a response to the BBC Breakfast journalist making a sly remark about the star's exit.

Of course Dan hadn't been able to resist talking about Piers' swift departure from Good Morning Britain.

Also, he opened up about the friendly rivalry he has with Piers.

He told The Times : "Piers and I have had a friendly rivalry, but it has been good for BBC Breakfast and GMB.

"He likes to throw a few insults around, but underneath all the froth I think there is a decent bloke fighting to get out."

Their latest clash comes after Piers sensationally quit his job on Good Morning Britain.

The presenter quit after a troubled night of sleep and not wanting to apologise to Meghan Markle for saying he didn't believe a single word of her Oprah chat.

The Duchess of Sussex had taken the time to lodge a complaint herself against the star after one of his explosive rants on GMB.
