Piers Morgan's daughter makes savage comment about his appearance on Good Morning Britain

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan read out a hilarious email from his young daughter Elise on the show on Tuesday, where she mocked his appearance - and he was not impressed.

The seven year old offered her father a backhanded compliment of sorts in a message read out live on air.

Watching at home, she took the opportunity to email him stating he "looked bad" but that she loved him.

Piers' GMB co-host Susanna Reid certainly saw the funny side, while Piers himself took the opportunity to give her a telling off during the show - something Susanna was quick to call out.

Speaking during the show, Piers said: "I just wanna say good morning to my daughter Elise who's taken to emailing me as she watches the show."

The email read: "Hi Dadda. I'm so tired. You look so bad but I guess I love you in some ways."

He responded: "You know what Elise, you know what? You just waking up to tell me how bad I look every morning is not good.

"It's not good. Behave yourself... naughty girl."

Susanna gasped before giving Piers a telling off of her own.

She said: "You can't admonish your daughter live on television."

Unfazed, Piers replied: "I absolutely can."

Also on the show, Piers defended his thoughts that fat-shaming "worked" after a guest lost half his body weight in just a year, transforming from 40 stone to 20 stone.

Darren McClintock, known as Dibsy, insisted he wasn't body-shamed though, and was instead supported after his personal trainer had him banned from all the takeaways in his town.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
