Piers Morgan's daughter floors him with fat jibe as he compares himself to Colin Firth

Piers Morgan was ridiculed by his own daughter after he compared himself to hunky Colin Firth.

The presenter's eight-year-old daughter Elise threw the fat jibe at him after he shared his thoughts on Instagram .

The 54-year-old confessed to followers that he thinks he shares similar looks to the award-winning actor and that people often "mix" him up with the hunk.

His side-by-side photo of the two of them was captioned: "Watching Love Actually with my daughter for the first time, and explained that people often mix me up with Colin Firth."

But it seemed his daughter didn't quite agree, admitting the difference was down to Piers being "fatter".

He continued: "There was a lengthy pause. 'No Dada.. you're a lot fatter.'"

Some of his famous pals found the post hilarious, with Myleene Klass commenting just laughing faces and Mark Wright adding: "Hahahaha".

The controversial host recently hit headlines as GMB viewers were left outraged when he won a bottle of wine worth thousands and then gloated that he would not be sharing it.

Piers had to put his taste buds to the test and guess which glass was the expensive plonk during an early morning wine tasting.

He was playing for a bottle of 1978 Petrus - while co-hosts Susanna Reid and Charlotte Hawkins were given bottle of champagne.

Andi Peters said: "If Piers is right he will win this bottle of wine worth thousands of pounds."

Piers managed to correctly guess which was the expensive wine and jumped up and pumped his fist to celebrate.

He was stunned when Andi revealed that he was being gifted the bottle of wine - but he would only share with his brother.

The GMB presenter said: "This is great. Are you seriously giving me that. That is fantastic.

"My brother Jeremy is watching, who's an army colonel, he's watching. He's back a few days over Christmas. We're going to have it this week."

Good Morning Britain viewers did not think the gift was very appropriate.

One viewer said: "This kind of item doesn't sit well with viewers. Giving Piers a bottle of wine worth Thousands of pounds?..."

"As if he needs it, I would have thought he would give it to charity," added another.
