Piers Morgan's boozy birthday celebrations as he parties with family after GMB exit

Piers Morgan had a booze-filled birthday celebration as his book soared back up the charts following his Good Morning Britain exit.

The former GMB presenter - who just turned 56 years old - was all smiles as he shared a picture of his miniature lockdown party.

“Happy 2nd lockdown Birthday... to me!” he wrote on Instagram.

“Fabulous cakes from @cakeworx @harpercollinsuk & some delicious alcoholic gifts from @ultimatebozo, @maricor_flor @jamieangelise @bertie_morgan @charlotte___tomlinson & some old @gmb friends - and no need to worry about doing a breakfast show with a hangover!”

The star sat in his back garden holding a beer while giving the camera a thumbs up.

On the table in front of him sat a cake made to look like cheese and wine and another white cake which read: “Wake Up by Piers Morgan,” after his book.

Piers also had a line of birthday cards - sent to him by his friends - hung up behind him.

He later shared a snap of him with his children in the garden as they waited for the meat to grill on the BBQ.

“Birthday BBQ Squad,” he captioned the post along with a few fire emojis.

The presenter, who sensationally quit GMB earlier this month, was wearing a navy polo t-shirt and white shorts to accommodate the heatwave.

He also uploaded a video thanking his publishers for the cake before his face got smashed into it.

"Just want to thank my publishers at Harper Collins for this amazing birthday cake they sent me," he said.

"Obviously it's my book, Wake Up, and the paperback is coming out on Thursday so it's time to wake up, get out and buy the paperback."

Piers’ book is now in the top 100 on Amazon as well as Waterstone’s.

The former GMB frontman quit the morning talk show after a row with coworker Alex Beresford.

They clashed over Meghan Markle and Prince Harry and Piers ended up walking off-set in a huff.

However, he recently wished peace on his ‘haters’ after the last dramatic few weeks.

“To my haters: peace out,” he posted on Twitter along with a picture of him wearing a flower crown.
