Piers Morgan rips off 'vomit' tie on Good Morning Britain after being told what to wear

Piers Morgan caused quite the commotion over his "vomit-coloured" tie on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday.

The GMB host revealed the exchange he had backstage over the green tie, which he likened to slime.

Piers, 54, told ITV viewers he was told he was "not allowed" to wear a pink tie like he wanted because Susanna Reid had chosen green for the show.

Giving details of the conversation, Piers explained: "I said 'I want to wear a pink tie'."

To which he reported he was told: "No I'm sorry Susanna has decided she is wearing a green dress. You will now wear a green tie."

Susanna then pointed out that she believed the tie was "horrible" and that it looked as though he had "rolled around in grass".

Halfway through the show Piers decided to take the tie in question off and throw it across the floor, telling viewers he was "going without a tie for the rest of the programme."

The unexpected drama sparked up a style debate on Twitter, with many social media users commenting.

One wrote: "It's not a bad tie @piersmorgan, I like a good tie."

"@piersmorgan absolutely creases me! Taking his tie off half way through GMB," added another.

While a third commented: "It's just a tie, odd tasteless colour but just a tie."
