Piers Morgan reveals he's 'still technically married' to Paris Hilton after 2009 Las Vegas wedding

Piers Morgan left Good Morning Britain viewers confused as he made shock revelation that he and Paris Hilton are still "technically married".

Piers and his co-presenter Susanna Reid were chatting to showbiz specialist Perez Hilton on a video call from the States when Piers took a trip down memory lane to 2009.

Piers and Paris had "tied the knot" in a Las Vegas ceremony, officiated by an Elvis impersonator, all for a TV show to prove how easy it is to get hitched in Sin City.

And Piers decided to show a clip of the show for Paris' long-time pal Perez.

But the 55-year-old clarified that the wedding wasn't legally binding - so actual wife Celia Walden didn't have anything to worry about.

"She's still my wife technically," he said nonchalantly. "We got married in Vegas for a TV show. True story, there's video of it."

Piers added: "We had an Elvis lookalike, a Frank Sinatra lookalike, a Marilyn Monroe lookalike. She wore a beautiful bridal gown, brought a dog with her, I got to kiss the bride, we exchanged rings.

"My actual wife was a little bit bemused."

"Does this mean you're a bigamist?" Susanna pressed.

Piers narrates the clip from the show, telling viewers: "It cost is $300 and it was all over in 15 minutes.

"That's my kind of romance."

Obviously enjoying themselves, Piers and Paris couldn't help but laugh at the chapel's altar.

Piers split from first wife Marion Shalloe in 2008, and tied the knot with Celia in 2010.

The couple recently marked their tenth wedding anniversary, while "original socialite" Paris is loved up with her "perfect match" Carter Reum.

The star has even given up on her billionaire ambition as she instead focuses on her relationship with entrepreneur Carter.

Elsewhere during the interview, Perez recalled his meteoric rise to fame during the noughties as the world's best-known gossip blogger.

"That whole era, everything was so new," he reminisced, "I had no idea what I was doing, it was the birth of social media.

"I view the bunch of us [celebrities] as drug addicts jonesing to get more attention…then eventually I realised this was not healthy."

*Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am.
