Piers Morgan returns to Good Morning Britain with fresh Greggs vegan steak bake rant

Piers Morgan soon got back into the swing of things after returning to Good Morning Britain on Monday morning.

The presenter was back in the hot seat alongside Susanna Reid and made himself at home again with a rant about…. Greggs vegan steak bake.

In news that will surprise no-one, the presenter is incredibly unhappy with the baked goods chain’s latest offering.

Branshing the offending item, he declared: “It’s not a steak.”

“If you Google steak, a steak is a cut of meat or fish, it’s not vegan or vegetarian.”

Unhappy: Piers was typically disgruntled

Pointing at a picture of a piece of beef, he argued: “That is a steak, this is not. This is actually meat and they should not be using meat terminology to sell non-meat products.”

“It’s a total con, you lot are all falling for it.”

He then made the (unfounded) claim that people pictures queueing at a Newcastle branch of Greggs when the new product was revealed had “probably [...] been paid to be there.”

“You’re all falling for it,” he continued. “Salt-laden garbage.

“There’s nothing virtuous about the Greggs steak bake.”

In an attempt to quell the rant, Charlotte Hawkins quipped: “Well it saves cows, doesn’t it?”

Good Morning Britain is now on for an extra 30 minutes a day, following the decision to axe the Jeremy Kyle Show.

Lorraine Kelly’s self-titled show will then air at the slightly later time of 9am with This Morning starting at 10am and also lasting an extra 30 minutes.
