Nearly a week on from his Good Morning Britain exit, Piers Morgan is said to be at the centre of a 'bidding war' between GB News and Rupert Murdoch for his services, with offers said to have reached £10million.
It was on Tuesday, March 9 that Piers quit after storming off the hours earlier following a clash with colleague Alex Beresford over Meghan Markle.
Announcing his departure in a brief statement, ITV said: "Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain.
"ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add."
In the days since his exit, outspoken host Piers has been heavily liked with a job on new channel GB News, chaired by Andrew Neil, who admitted the station were very keen on Piers, describing him as a "huge asset."
But on Sunday, The Mirror reported that they face competition from media mogul Rupert Murdoch for his upcoming “opinionated” News UK TV venture or become a star feature of his US network, Fox News.
A source told the paper: "He has had millions of pounds worth of offers. He turned GMB into a ratings hit, it seems everything he touches turns to gold.
“People love his honesty, even the people that don’t like him, they can’t help but be interested in what he says.
“Some of the offers have hit the £10million mark, and it seems he may be able to land exactly what he wants.”
Piers posted an article on the rumoured bidding war on his Twitter on Sunday evening and cheekily responded: "Only 10?"
Some of his fans begged him not to move over the other side of the Atlantic, with one replying: "Do not deprive us of your views, opinions or talent by going to America! Please" and another reacting: "Yes. Please don’t come to America. Stay in England’
Former Spurs and Celtic defender Ramon Vega told him: "Piers, if Meghan and Harry getting $100m for some series, then you should get at least $150M ! I can be your agent if you want"
