ITV has confirmed that Adil Ray will be hostingGood Morning Britain alongside Kate Garraway and Susanna Reid after Piers Morgan’s departure.
The 46-year-old radio and television presenter isn’t new to the show. He has previously hosted the show during occasions when its main list of anchors has been unavailable.
Ray took to Twitter to announce: “I will be co-hosting Good Morning Britain throughout the whole of April Mon to Weds, starting this Monday with Kate Garraway and with Susanna Reid after the hols.”
Earlier in March, during a discussion around Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, Morgan clashed with co-star Alex Beresford over his remarks about the royals. Morgan said that he “didn’t believe a word” of Meghan’s interview, which included accounts of encountering racism from the royal family and her own mental health struggles, and that it was “contemptible”.
Morgan stormed off set after Beresford took issue with his co-host’s comments. A few hours later, he also announced his exit from the morning show as it received a record number of complaints through Ofcom.

On 17 March, Ofcom revealed that over 57,000 people had complained about Morgan.
“Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain. ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add,” said a statement released by ITV after Morgan’s exit.
During Ray’s appearance on the show on Thursday, he started off with: “Great to be back. Have I missed anything?” sarcastically referencing Morgan’s exit.
A permanent full-time host is yet to be confirmed for the show which airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
