Piers Morgan reignites Dan Walker feud over RMT Mick Lynch 'Thunderbirds' interview

Long-standing rivals Piers Morgan and Dan Walker got into another fiery spat on Twitter over an interview with RMT union boss Mick Lynch. Former Good Morning Britain presenter Piers caused a stir on the social media platform following his chat with the RMT chief as the national rail strikes continued.

Twitter users criticised the Piers Morgan Uncensored host as he repeatedly challenged Mick over why he had Thunderbirds baddie The Hood as his profile picture, The Mirror reports . “I’m just wondering where the comparison goes,” Piers told the union boss. “Because he was obviously an evil criminal terrorist mastermind, described as the world’s most dangerous man who wreaked utter carnage and havoc on the public.”

“Is that the level you’re pitching this at, Piers?” Mick retorted. “That is a joke amongst me and my friends, and you can see the likeness if you like.”

Piers replied: “So you’re not denying that you are comparing yourself to The Hood?”

Following the interview, former BBC Breakfast host Dan Walker took to Twitter to share a clip of an interview he had conducted with Mick in an apparent dig at his old rival. Dan wrote alongside the video: “We live in the age of the jabby, confrontational interview and the RMT’s Mick Lynch has had a few of them.

“If you treat people with respect, you can still ask tough questions and get decent answers allowing your audience to make their own minds up,” he added.

Piers was quick to respond to Dan’s message. “Is there anyone more deluded in the world [of] television than Desperate Dan,” he wrote alongside the clip. He went on to call his foe "the world’s most boring interviewer.”

Dan replied with laughing emojis and said: “Why is it ‘boring’ to let someone actually speak rather than shouting over them all the time?”

“Mate, I had to leave GMB for being too exciting/dangerous,” Piers answered. “You had to leave the BBC because even by their standards you’re a mood-hoovering dullard. But your pompous lectures on how to do interviews are b****y funny, I’ll give you that.”

“You left GMB because one of your colleagues called you out,” Dan argued. “Your ‘exciting/dangerous’ response to that was…” he continued, adding a gif of the moment Piers famously stormed off the Good Morning Britain set.

“Next time I promise to spend at least five minutes on Thunderbirds,” Dan signed off.
