Piers Morgan 'ready' to appear on Strictly - but wants to be in same-sex couple

Piers Morgan might finally be ready to appear on Strictly Come Dancing - but is determined for a certain professional dancer to become his partner.

As Givoanni Pernice appeared on Loose Women today, anchor Jane Moore revealed that she had received a text message from Piers.

She said: "I texted Piers before coming on air to say that Giovanni would like to dance with you. This is what he said - 'I'm ready. I've already done a same-sex 'sizzle'. I did the paso doble on the dance floor with Bruno at my 50th and he said I had magnificent moves.

"'I think he also called me a stylish stallion too.' So there you go Giovanni, you've got your partner."

Responding, Giovanni said: "I think it would be fantastic to see Piers because he is a very strong character and I am a massive fan of his career so it would be great to spend some time with him."

And Piers definitely did not seem averse to the idea and retweeted the clip shared on Loose Women's Twitter page, adding some dancing emojis.

Giovanni Pernice would be up for working with Piers (ITV)

Piers would become one of the many Good Morning Britain stars to appear on Strictly if he added his name to the 2021 line-up.

Kate Garraway was one of the first GMB stars to take part back in 2008 when she was partnered with Anton du Beke.

She was followed by entertainment editor Richard Arnold, who starred in the BBC dancing show in 2012 with pro Erin Boag.

A year later, Susanna Reid took part with Kevin Clifton, which sparked her move from the BBC to ITV after success on the show.

More recently, Charlotte Hawkins appeared on the show with Brendan Cole in 2017 - and is still showing off her moves to this day.

*Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV
