Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan confronted co-host Susanna Reid on Monday, after she admitted feeling sorry for Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle amid the royal "crisis".
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will meet with The Queen on Monday to discuss their royal future, after their decision to step back as senior members of the royal family.
It is not yet clear how the couple will continue with the family in terms of what roles they might take, amid their plans not to use public funding to support them.
But Piers, who has spoken out about the couple's decision, continued to hit out at them on the show on Monday morning, calling for them to not be supported by the royal family at all after they chose to "step back" from duties.
He also questioned "where is the racism?" after reports the Duchess may accuse the royal household of "racism and sexism".
Susanna was quick to jump in to defend the couple, also claiming Piers' comments that Prince Harry "hustled" Disney Chief Bob Iger at the recent Lion King premiere in a bid to get Meghan voiceover work were "judgemental".
But Piers quickly shouted back to question her views, branding the situation "nonsense".
He said: "This extraordinary clip of Prince Harry hustling the boss at the Lion King premier. Have you seen anything more cringe making?"
Susanna responded: "It's a very judgmental word to say hustling... he’s suggesting."
But an irritated Piers wasn't in agreement, asking: "How can you defend this nonsense?
"Why? Why don’t you feel as much for the Queen and Prince Phillip? No you don't, you think Meghan has been driven out by racism? Where is the racism?"
He added: "What are they moaning about all the time?" to which Susanna said: "Internal struggles."
This led to Piers adding: "Oh give me a break. They’re wallowing in their own self-obsessed world... we're supposed to feel sorry for them."
He claimed they just wanted to be Hollywood stars, accusing Meghan of "plotting and planning" the move to be a "global" star to which Susanna disagreed.
