Piers Morgan QUITS Good Morning Britain following Harry and Meghan comments

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan has quit the ITV show.

The bombshell announcement follows news that Ofcom is investigating comments made by the presenter.

The watchdog has received over 41,000 complaints in the wake of controversial comments made about The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

During their interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan Markle claimed she had suffered with suicidal thoughts and that at one point she "didn't want to be alive anymore".

However, Piers sparked a backlash after claiming he "didn't believe a word" of it.

His comments sparked outrage not just from some viewers, but also fellow presenter Alex Beresford.

On Tuesday, Piers stormed off the set following another clash between the pair.

Now the Mirror reports that ITV have confirmed he former newspaper editor is stepping down from his role on the popular show.

ITV confirmed: "Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain.

"ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add."
