Piers Morgan names which Royal sent him a message of support after he quit Good Morning Britain

Piers Morgan revealed the name of the Royal who sent him a message of support after he quit Good Morning Britain following his coverage of Meghan Markle's tell all chat with Oprah Winfrey.

And Piers, who left the show after six years following the row over comments he made about the Duchess of Sussex, revealed he was told to 'get back out there' by the Royal who sent him a text message following his departure from the show.

Piers revealed that Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson was one of the royals who reached out to support him after the debacle which saw his rant about Meghan became Ofcom's most-complained about moment ever, The Mirror reports.

Telly presenter Piers had said before that "several members of the royal family" had contacted him following the move and in his column for the Mail on Sunday this weekend, Piers admitted Prince Andrew's ex-wife Fergie was amongst those who had sent messages of support.

He wrote: "Not all Royal duchesses were as thrilled as Meghan 'Pinocchio' Markle to see me leave GMB.

"'People have said how much they miss your morning joy and humour,' texted Sarah, Duchess of York, 'get back out there!'"

Piers also joked he and Fergie could team up to host a new morning show together, laughing: "Perhaps we should start a new breakfast show together… 'Morgy and Fergie in the Morning', anyone?"

Following the suggestion in his column he teased on Twitter: "My next job?"

Piers initially told of support from inside the royal family during his interview on US TV show Extra.

He told the show's host Billy Bush: "I've had some messages communicated to me on behalf of several members of the royal family.

"I'm not going to go into who it was but [it was] gratitude that somebody was standing up."

Piers, who had previously criticised Meghan and Harry for refusing to name the royal they allege had made comments about their son Archie's skin colour, was told by his followers he should follow his own advice and name the royals who had reached out to support him.

One said: "Um, Piers then name names yourself , lead by example , which members of the Royal Family praised you for trashing Meghan ?! #PiersMorgan."

Another added: "So, Piers Morgan say’s he's had messages from the Royal Family 'gratitude someone was standing up for them'.

"Away Piers, where’s the proof, you know the thing you are begging Meghan and Harry for, surely you’ll have some from these supposed messages or are you a lying hypocrite."
