Piers Morgan names eye-watering I'm A Celeb fee as Vernon Kay is this year's highest paid

Piers Morgan has named his price for producers to get him to appear on I'm A Celebrity.... Get Me Out of Here! - and he doesn't come cheap.

The Good Morning Britain host said he would need a six figure sum to make him sign on the dotted line for the gruelling reality TV show.

Enjoying a Q&A with fans on Twitter, one asked him: "What would it take for you to go on I'm A Celeb? Because I would love to see you go on."

Piers bluntly responded: "£10million."

The highest ever paid campmate to go into the jungle - or castle as this year's location would have it - is Caitlyn Jenner.

The former US athlete and reality TV star was paid a whopping £500,000 for keeping viewers entertained in Australia last year.

This year it is TV presenter Vernon Kay that holds the title of the show's biggest earner.

Vernon, 46, is said to have been paid an impressive £250,000 to appear on the nightly ITV show for up to three weeks.

Corrie legend Beverley Callard's fee is also said to be very high (ITV)

After signing up the Family Fortunes host, an insider at the show told the Mirror: "Everyone’s so pleased to have Vernon on board, he’s a lovely guy, full of down-to-earth northern charm and perfect for the show."

Coronation Street icon Beverley Callard is also said to be one of the biggest earners this year.

After filming her last scenes as Liz McDonald, Beverley had wanted to appear on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing - but injury ruled her out.

The 63-year-old actress instead looked to ITV who gave her a spot on this year's I'm A Celeb line-up.

While Piers might not be appearing on I'm A Celeb any time soon, the 55-year-old has been tuning in nightly to watch the campmates antics.

The outspoken presenter accused this year's cast of playing up to the cameras.

"I couldn't do I'm A Celeb because I wouldn't be able to stop laughing when my campmates turned on the crowd-pleasing 'Please don't vote me off' he scathed.
