Piers Morgan mocks Andi Peters for 'looking like a traffic warden' after chubster comment

Piers Morgan gleefully mocked co-star Andi Peters for "looking like a traffic warden" after the ITV competition presenter branded him a "chubster" yesterday.

The 55-year-old hold had declared on Monday that he needed to be shamed into losing weight after gaining almost a stone during lockdown.

But Piers didn't appear to appreciate the comment from Andi, and managed to get his own back today.

Andi had been hosting from the Isle of Mull as Susanna introduced him.

Piers snarked: "Looking like a traffic warden."

This comes after Andi made a brutal dig at his weight yesterday.

"You said that you thought that fat shaming worked," Susanna pointed out and he agreed that he did.

After Susanna said that she thought fat shaming was "disgusting", she revealed that Andi Peters had wade in.

Andi was seen jumping as he used a skipping rope when he said: "Good morning Susanna, good morning chubster! This is what you need to do, a little bit of skipping."

When the camera switched to Piers in the studio, he wouldn't smile and looked incredibly unimpressed.

When the GMB director began to play some awkward music, Susanna realised that the atmosphere had growb tense and called for it to "stop".

This comes after Piers had been slamming people complaining about "fat-shaming" when he opened up about his own weight issues.

After admitting that he had "put on a bit of timber", he said that he needed to be "shamed" into losing weight.

Piers said: "Like a lot of people through lockdown, especially when you bust your ankle up, I have! I'm carrying too much weight! He's not wrong!"

Questioned on how much weight he had put on, he said: "At least half a stone to three quarters of a stone."

"I've put on a stone!" Susanna exclaimed.

"Right, so I need to be shamed to getting it off," Piers continued.

Susanna responded: "Yes, you fat person. Lose the weight! It's about time, chubster! Honestly."

Piers smirked, commenting: "Wow."

(ITV)

Susanna quickly felt bad about her jokey comments, saying: "You just told me to do!"

The pair went onto speak to Dr Hilary, who agreed that there "shouldn't be any pussyfooting" around weight issues as people needed to be helped.

But later, Dr Hilary found himself under fire as Piers mocked the doctor's "female" name.

Yet Dr Hilary wryly responded: "At least I'm not overweight!"

Do you agree with Piers' views on combating weight loss?
