Piers Morgan missing from Good Morning Britain and viewers are furious

Good Morning Britain viewers demanded to know where Piers Morgan was on Monday as the always outspoken host was missing in action.

Piers, 55, has sparked a lot of controversy during lockdown, ruffling feathers thanks to his heated clashes with MPs and rants against the Government when they have refused GMB's invitations to appear on the show.

His actions have prompted hundreds of complaints to broadcasting regulator Ofcom and even a petition to get him sacked from GMB.

But a defiant Piers has not loosened up on trying to get answers from the Government, meaning his absence on Monday's show, after a weekend which saw Boris Johnson's chief adviser Dominic Cummings spark a massive furore after travelling from London to Durham during lockdown, was particularly telling, as he and co-host Susanna Reid were replaced by Ben Shephard and Charlotte Hawkins.

And many viewers were angry that Piers wasn't there to take Cummings and the Government to task.

One tweeted: "Where @piersmorgan when the boris been lying to the whole UK. You get these saps on.. boring boring boring," and another reacted: "Where is @piersmorgan when you need him? Ben Shepherd must have a lot of splinters in his cheeks being sat on the fence for so long."

A third posted: "Where is @piersmorgan when we need him," but Piers did actually confirm last week that he wouldn't be on GMB this week, saying it had been a "long old haul" reporting daily on everything's that happened as a result of coronavirus.
