Piers Morgan makes GMB career announcement after Ofcom verdict

Piers Morgan teased a career update on social media and has revealed he is working on a 'global project'.

This comes after Ofcom announced that they had cleared the controversial journalist over his comments about Meghan Markle earlier this year on Good Morning Britain.

Piers Morgan was accused of 'breaching the broadcasting code' as he shared his opinions of the Duchess of Sussex after the explosive Oprah Winfrey interview.

Ofcom received a record number of complaints as Piers said that he "didn't believe a word" that Meghan was saying in regards to her mental health and suicidal thoughts.

Wales Online reports that since being cleared, he has taken to Twitter to tease his 7.9 million followers of a new career update.

Following his post stating Ofcom's verdict, he then asked: "Do I get my job back?"

However, Susanna Reid stated on Good Morning Britain on Thursday's (September 2) broadcast that Piers would not be returning, and he has since said that 'he wouldn't go back' anyway.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, he said he just wanted to 'prove a point.'

He said: "I put that post on social media asking if I'd get my job back to prove a point. I wouldn’t go back, not without a public apology and I’m not going to get one.

"I've got much bigger things coming up. The future is exciting. The next project is global, it’s big.

"I can’t say what but people are going to hear about it within the next few weeks."

The fiery TV presenter has yet to reveal just what he has been up to but The Mirror reports that since being cleared, he has been bombarded with offers.
