Piers Morgan left red-faced after awkward Bonnie Tyler blunder on Good Morning Britain

Singing legend Bonnie Tyler is one of this country's most recognisable stars.

But that proved not to be the case when she appeared on ITV's Good Morning Britain earlier today.

The Neath-born entertainer sat down for a chat with Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid, only to point out an embarrassing gaff the show's hosts had made.

Both presenters were left red faced when the Total Eclipse of the Heart vocalist spotted that they'd actually used a picture of someone else as the backdrop for the interview.

"That's not me," pointed out Bonnie, who's currently celebrating 50 years in show business.

The blushing hosts then tried to explain away the gaff by guessing at who, if not Bonnie, the person in the photo could be, with various attempts including Page Three model Samantha Fox during the height of her '80s pop fame.

However, as the interview continued, the penny finally dropped in the studio as to who the impostor actually was.

"We have solved the mystery, the photo is of a Bonnie Tyler tribute act," explained Piers, causing everyone to start laughing.

The 68-year-old from Skewen also spoke of  her excitement at being picked to perform for the Pope at the Vatican this Christmas, having previously admitted to it being one of the highlights of her career so far.

"You can’t get much higher than the Pope," she said, adding that she  still gets the jitters before performing.

"I have Jack Daniel’s and Red Bull and it gives me wings. But I only have one.

"Everybody thinks they can sing when they’re p***ed but it's not true... I get nervous before I go on stage."
