Piers Morgan launches astonishing rant at Boris Johnson's hair comparing him to Wurzel Gummidge

Piers Morgan stunned viewers by launching into a tirade against Boris Johnson's hair, comparing him to Worzel Gummidge.

The Good Morning Britain host has taken aim at the Prime Minister on numerous occasions since the global coronavirus pandemic hit the UK, with criticisms of the way he and his Government have dealt with the crisis.

But on Tuesday morning it was the PM's appearance that got the sharp side of Piers' tongue, with the always outspoken presenter saying that making sure his hair looked tidy was "a common courtesy."

Questioning why Johnson's other half, Carrie Symonds hasn't given him a trim, Piers ranted: "What is going on with the Prime Minister's hair?

"I know it may seem very trivial, but the rest of us, our wives, our partners, people we're with, have bothered to get the scissors out and give us a little trim.

"Having the Prime Minister coming out like Worzel Gummidge. And I was told by sources close to the Prime Minister that he hasn't seen a barber since early March, he has really fine hair and apparently brushing doesn't really tame it.

"It's not disrespectful, it's because hairdressers aren't open til July, well that's fine but someone in that house must be able to trim it.

"Carrie? Carrie Symonds? Could she do it?"

Taking aback by Piers' criticism, his GMB co-host Susanna Reid replied: She's a bit distracted at the moment," but, having none of it, Piers retorted: "It takes ten minutes," continued Piers.

"I don't want the Prime Minister of this country to look like Worzel Gummidge, and I don't really buy the thin hair brushing thing.

Brush your hair, it's just basic courtesy."
