Piers Morgan jokes he 'hasn't ruined Spice Girls tour' after Mel B makes Geri Horner tryst claims on Life Stories

Piers Morgan joked that he “hadn’t ruined the Spice Girls tour” after Melanie Brown made claimed to have slept with Geri Horner years ago.

Brown left the audience of Morgan’s Life Stories stunned when she alleged that she enjoyed a night of passion with Horner back at the height of the girl band’s fame.

The story hit headlines hours after being recorded over the weekend, with Morgan using Good Morning Britain to the clip in question from the interview before the full episode is broadcast later this year.

But Morgan has allayed fears that the interview might have damaged the impending reunion tour, with four of the five original members set to play stadiums around the country.

“The Spice Girls tour is still on. I haven't ruined that,” Morgan joked. “If they are successful with the UK of course they’ll extend it,” he replied in response to Susanna Reid asking if more dates were still on the cards.

“Do you think they’re going to cancel it over Mel B saying something controversial? They’d never make it past the first date.”

Mel B revealed she slept with bandmate Geri Horner

Sitting in the Life Stories hot seat, Brown appeared to nod and smile as Morgan asked her if there was any truth in rumours about a secret Ginger Spice tryst.

Morgan had asked: “You were coming here to be brutally honest - did or didn't you sleep with Geri Halliwell? Did you sleep with her?”

Brown replied that they had “all slept in a bed together” but said that is was “not like that”. She then smiled and nodded when Morgan asked if Horner was “like that”.

She then said: “She's going to hate me for this because she's all posh in her country house with her husband. But it’s the past.”

Brown later backtracked on the claims during an interview on Australian radio, revealing that she had a “long conversation” with Horner after the recording and that media had taken her remark to a “whole other level”.

Horner is yet to comment on any claims but is reportedly set to deny them. The controversial claims come months before the duo – alongside Melanie Chisholm and Emma Bunton – are set to embark on a short stadium tour.
