Piers Morgan issued a dark warning to James Martin today after the chef's dig at the weekend when welcoming Charlotte Hawkins onto the show.
Addressing another off-air feud with a journalist, Piers told viewers as his exasperated co-host Susanna Reid watched on: "I'm basically half Sicilian - you want to get on with me, I'm your best friend in the world. No problem. You want to be loyal to me, I'm the most loyal guy you're ever going to meet.
"You want to go to war with me? Someone's going to get riddled with bullets, metaphorically. It ain't gonna be me!"
GMB went on to supply some Godfather music as Susanna cringed, but she quickly turned viewers' attention to colleague Charlotte's appearance on James Martin's show.
Piers jumped in: "Martin might be on the list! He tried to wriggle off at the end. But James Martin introduces you like this..."
Airing the clip, James was seen saying: "Together, we will be serving up plate after plate of delicious food for one of the stars of Good Morning Britain. But before you change channels, no, it's not Piers Morgan."
Walking off, James quipped: "Sorry Piers!"
Back in the GMB studio, Charlotte and Susanna laughed as Piers sat stone-faced.
Susanna exclaimed: "He apologised."
But Piers sulked: "Ho, ho, ho, Jimmy boy. Let's see who has the last laugh, sunshine. Because shall I tell you what's cooking? You!"
How will Piers get back at James Martin? Only time will tell...
