Piers Morgan has declared he wants Boris Johnson to do Life Stories, telling him 'whenever you're ready Prime Minister.'
Piers' candid ITV chat show was back on Tuesday night with Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer in the hot seat and choking back tears at one point as he spoke about his late mother never getting to enjoy his political career.
Former GMB host Piers came in for a lot of praise from viewers for his handling of the interview and, among the tweets about Keir were plenty asking when we'd see the PM get a grilling.
Directly replying to one followers who asked "has Boris called you yet?" the 56-year-old said: "Open invitation."
Piers then took the bull by the horns by adding: "To those asking, yes I would love to interview @BorisJohnson - for Life Stories or any other show.
"Known him 30yrs, respect his many electoral successes, but don’t respect him running into fridges to avoid accountability.
"Whenever you’re ready Prime Minister..."
Piers' tweet has been retweeted well over 200 times in a matter of hours, with one of his fans telling him they didn't fancy his chances of landing the interview, replying: "He won't agree to it....wouldn't go on @GMB for 10 mins, let alone a life stories"
Another tweeted: "Boris will keep running away from you for one clear reason: Boris doesn't like being heavily scrutinised."
Other Twitter users criticised Piers for thinking he was the man for the job, with one replying: "The PM is accountable to the public at the ballot box. He’s not accountable to you" and another retorting: "you got more chance of getting meghan to take you for a pint."
