Piers Morgan implies he won't return to Good Morning Britain after his break from show

Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan implied he might not return to the popular breakfast show after his upcoming break.

Next week, the 55-year-old will be taking a holiday - alongside his co-host Susanna Reid and regular guest, Dr Hilary Jones.

Piers announced during Wednesday's show he would be taking some time away from the cameras after a gruelling few weeks presenting the show.

Piers admitted it had been a "long old haul" reporting daily on the coronavirus pandemic.

But Birmingham Live reports on Thursday's show, he hinted he may not return.

Opening the segment on Thursday, Piers told viewers: "Welcome to the show on a Thursday. Our last day..."

"Well, not ever," Susanna then interjected, but Piers chuckled.

"You never know these days," Piers said, before adding: "Do you? Erm, anyway..."

Susanna then explained for anybody who had missed yesterday's announcement: "We have a little bit of leave coming up."

Piers continued: "It's weird having half-term off when there's no half-term."

Shuffling his papers on the desk, he added: "We are sort of having half-term off... from this, aren't we?" referencing the ITV1 daytime show.

"It's odd having half-term off when the kids aren't even at school, so it's weird taking half-term off," Susanna agreed, nodding to her co-star.

"Everybody needs a little time out," Piers admitted.

*Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV
