Piers Morgan hits back as Susanna Reid is hounded over 'disgusting habit'

Piers Morgan has defended Susanna Reid after she was trolled over an alleged habit.

Every morning, the pair present Good Morning Britain from 6am to 9am, interviewing celebrities and politicians.

Understandably, the hosts need to keep their energy up and viewers often see Piers tucking into toast on the show.

Piers' sarcastic response was well-received (ITV)

But one viewer took issue with Susanna apparently eating 'boiled sweets' live on air.

The user tweeted: "@piersmorgan any chance you can get @susannareid100 to stop sucking boiled sweets while she's presenting @GMB.

"The clacking of saliva picked up through the microphone is disgusting. Cheers."

But Piers, who was having none of it, replied back to the troll: "Hi Griffo, I'm glad you've identified the most important issue facing civilisation right now & will take this up with The Clacker @susannareid100 as a matter of urgency."
