Piers Morgan has been hit with more then 1,095 Ofcom complaints after he mocked the Chinese language live on Good Morning Britain.
The 54-year-old GMB presenter had been discussing about the Queen's eldest grandson Peter Phillips appearing in a TV advert for state milk in China when he made the comments.
Discussing the ad with co-host Susanna Reid, he exclaimed: "Oh Peter, for god's sake man!"
After rewatching the advert again, Peter described Peter as looking like Bill Murray in the advert before slamming him for "exploiting" his royal status.
He added: "At the next royal event, can you imagine Christmas at Sandringham is like - 'I'm sorry, Your Majesty, but I only drink yang yank yong ying ming milk."
A frustrated Susanna Reid sighed: "Piers."
As they aired the advert again, Piers said: "OK then - ching chang chong, OK, I got it."
Susanna reprimanded him: "For god's sake... taking the mick out of languages is rather 1970s."
Viewers watching the show were not the least bit impressed, and after taking to Twitter to voice their disgust, some took it another step further.
A spokesperson for the broadcasting watchdog Ofcom has confirmed to Mirror Online that a total of 1,095 complaints have been made over Piers' actions.
Piers, who has been active on Twitter and Instagram today, has not referred to the complaints to Ofcom on social media.
On Fridays Piers takes the day off from presenting GMB, and so he wasn't on the show to remark on the controversy either.
But it hasn’t stopped outraged viewers from taking to Twitter, with one writing: "Good lord! Piers is drop the Asian stereotype, pretending to do a Chinese translation with, sorry but: Ching Chong ching... is my dude for real?!?!?"
A second tweeted: "Piers really thought the rest of the panel would laugh at him mocking Chinese people! Why is this man still given a national platform?!? #GMB."
While another commented: "Little bit offensive there Piers. The 1970's called, they want thier Chinese stereotype back. Moron. #gmb."
A third remarked: "#twitterverse is gonna be coming for you @piersmorgan #GMB #chinesemilkgate Get ready."
Another wrote: "#GMB @piersmorgan breaking too many rules, things are different in 2020, you are a dinosaur who needs to learn some new rules @itv @GMB."
