Piers Morgan hints at ITV return in telling reply to fan about Life Stories

Piers Morgan has hinted at a comeback to not just TV, but ITV, as the latest episode of Life Stories went out on Thursday night.

Piers hit headlines last week thanks to him quitting from Good Morning Britain, hours after he walked off the set after a heated spat with colleague Alex Beresford.

His exit from the ITV daytime show massively divided opinion amongst viewers, with some signing petitions for him to be sacked over his comments on Meghan Markle and "not believing a word she said" in her and Prince Harry's Oprah Winfrey interview and others putting their name to petitions to bring him back after his departure.

Since leaving GMB, Piers has ruled out a return to the show as bookies name Ben Shephard as the favourite to replace him on a full time basis after the likes of Ben, Piers' usual co-host Susanna Reid, Ranvir Singh, Charlotte Hawkins and Kate Garraway have hosted over the past week.

Piers was back on TV screens on Thursday for an edition of Life Stories which was filmed a while ago, long before his GMB exit and saw him interview Coleen Nolan on everything from her marrige splits to her sisters' cancer battles.

And, as the credits rolled on the episode, one fan took to Twitter to tell him: "Great show. Don’t leave #LifeStories Piers!"

Making a swift response, Piers replied: "Thanks Andrew - don’t worry, I’m filming some more soon."

On Friday, Piers returned to Twitter to say that Coleen's episode of Life Stories was the most watched one of the series so far, helping ITV to be the only channel to top two million viewers in the 9pm prime time slot.

He tweeted: "My Life Stories show with @NolanColeen was the highest-rated of this series & won the 9pm slot by miles. Thanks for watching!"
