Piers Morgan has savage response to jibe from GMB's Sean Fletcher

Piers Morgan may not have been seen on screen for weeks now, but that's not stopping him having his say.

The Good Morning Britain presenter was enjoying a long summer break away from the ITV show at his home in France - until the quarantine kicked in.

Piers and his family quickly jetted back from Saint Tropez on Thursday prior to the new 14 day self-isolation measures being introduced.

This meant that the 55-year-old was all eyes and ears when it came to Friday's GMB - including a jibe from fellow presenter Sean Fletcher.

Sean re-joined the news programme this week after not being seen since March.

Sharing a picture of himself with co-host Charlotte Hawkins, Sean jokingly pushed Piers' buttons when it came to admitting to dipping into his wardrobe while he's away.

He tweeted: "Really enjoyed working with @CharlotteHawkns and @alexberesfordTV on @gmb this week.

"FYI my red tie is from @piersmorgan's wardrobe, so it normally fits around a slightly larger neck - that’s why it kept loosening."

And Piers was quickly in the replies with a savage dig.

"Shame you can’t borrow my much larger ratings too."

And it didn't stop there as Sean wanted to get one-up on his co-star, responding: "21.3% for me and @CharlotteHawkns on Thursday’s @gmb@piersmorgan. Not a bad share with no promo/social media campaign."

It goes without saying that Piers wanted to get the last word and chose to make a joke about Sean's new look as his hair grew out during lockdown.

He tweeted back: "And with that hair too!" adding a winking face emoji.

It won't be long before Piers and co-host Susanna Reid will be back fronting the ITV show.

The pair left for their long summer holiday in July and are set to return in September.
