Piers Morgan gives damning take on Manchester United and Arsenal

Arsenal fan and Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan has offered a strong verdict on Manchester United and the Gunners.

United are struggling this season in the Premier League and currently sit in 9th, nine points off the Champions League places and 20 points behind leaders Liverpool.

It's a far cry from the tenure of Sir Alex Ferguson when United were either winning the league or challenging, with the Reds having last lifted the Premier League trophy in his final season at the end of the 2012/13 campaign.

Arsenal are going through a similar but more extended period of mediocrity after enduring the end of Arsene Wenger's era at the club and now Unai Emery is struggling in his second season. The Londoners by comparison have not tasted Premier League silverware since the 2003/04 campaign.

Both United and Arsenal took centre stage again for the wrong reasons on Sunday as they were held to draws against Sheffield United and Southampton respectively and it has led to reaction aplenty. Here is what Morgan has had to say.

"Watching Arsenal yesterday and Manchester United today, it’s incredible to think these were the two dominant clubs in the Premier League a few years ago," Morgan tweeted.

"They both look a complete shambles, but worse than that - the players don’t seem to have any heart or hunger."
