Piers Morgan gains a stone after eating six meals a day but is inspired by Eamonn Holmes

Piers Morgan has been inspired by Eamonn Holmes to lose weight, after he confessed to gaining a stone since starting GMB.

GMB host Piers has gone from mocking Eamonn as a "telly tubby" to making him his "fitness model" for 2021.

Piers, 55, said he is now 16 stone after wolfing six meals a day because of his early starts on the ITV show.

At the moment, his catalogue of meals includes everything from porridge to a hearty lunch - reports Mirror Online.

Piers' wife Celia has to "lock away" the biscuit tin or the snacking commences before dinner time.

He wrote in his Daily Mail column : "My Good Morning Britain day regime is usually porridge and honey at 5.30am, Marmite on toast at 7.30am, eggs and something when I get home at 9.15am, possibly another sandwich snack at 11am, and a hearty lunch at 12.30pm.

"By 5pm I'm slumped on the sofa like a zombie waiting for dinner. As a result, I now weigh 16st, a stone more than when I started at GMB."

The breakfast TV star vowed to weigh the same as his TV star pal Eamonn by the end of 2021.

He said: "I'm not really into making new year's resolutions and I find the notion of doing Veganuary and Dry January particularly preposterous during another lockdown.

"The former 'Telly-Tubby' has gone from being the object of my fat-mockery to my fitness role model. So my resolution is to weigh the same as Eamonn Holmes by the end of 2021."
