Piers Morgan forced to go to the hospital with flu despite being told he was ‘over the worst’

Piers Morgan has revealed he was forced to go to the hospital after his flu symptoms failed to subside.

The Good Morning Britain presenter, who has been ill for over a week, told how he had to make the trip hours after ITV’s Dr Hillary Jones told him he was “over the worst”.

Speaking on Wednesday’s show the 53-year-old said: “Doctor Hilary yesterday diagnosed me and said, 'Don't worry you're over the worst'.

"I ended up in hospital yesterday and got diagnosed with bronchitis, laryngitis and sinusitis. Thanks Hilary."

On Tuesday, Morgan admitted he was a “sweaty mess” and had chest pains after contracting a virus.

Asking Dr Hilary for advice, Morgan said: "Ten days into the cold I've come out with these terrible sweats all morning.

"Is it the expulsion of demons or could it be the beginning of the end?"

Dr Hilary replied: "It's run its course, you've been suffering from an upper respiratory tract infection.

“By soldiering on it probably kept the virus going a little bit. You are over the worst of it though.

Piers Morgan calls a guest the worst ever on GMB

"It doesn't normally last several weeks, but at this time of year it's not unusual."

However it appeared the host’s illness had little impact on his ability to debate with guests.

Earlier this week, a model was branded the show’s "worst ever guest" by Morgan after switching sides in an argument, over a banned Tube advert which depicted a 58-year-old man with his shirt off.
