Piers Morgan forced to deny he broke lockdown rules to see his parents

Piers Morgan has strongly denied that he's broken lockdown after being accused of flouting rules on Twitter.

The always outspoken Good Morning Britain host has been particularly vocal over the past few months, taking aim at Government ministers for refusing to go on the show, criticising Boris Johnson for his actions and lashing out at the Prime Minister's chief adviser Dominic Cummings on his return to GMB this week.

Cummings controversially took the decision to drive from London to Durham at the end of March, despite displaying coronavirus symptoms.

Piers accused him of 'destroying lockdown' with his actions and lack of apology but now the 55-year-old has hit back at accusations he himself broke lockdown.

One Twitter user posted: "How was your visit to see mummy & daddy last week?" with Piers immediately hitting back: "Haven't seen my parents since March 14, because the rules still state I can't overnight at my Sussex home & unlike Dominic Cummings, I've abided by the rules.”

Referencing Cummings' actions again after seeing crowds of Brits flocking to beaches and parks over the weekend, prior to the relaxation of lockdown rules allowing people to meet in groups of six, Piers also tweeted: "One thing’s for sure.. the Govt’s no longer ‘following the science’ & the British people are no longer (post Cummings) following the rules."
