Piers Morgan fires back at Good Morning Britain 'sacking' claims from angry MP

A defiant Piers Morgan has hit back at claims he couId be 'sacked' from Good Morning Britain.

Piers has always been something of a controversial and opinion-dividing figure, but no more so than over the past two months, when he has blasted the Government in furious on air rants and taken on MPs in heated interviews on GMB.

And now, after Ofcom received hundreds of complaints about Piers 'humiliating' interview with MP Andrew Bridgen, Bridgen has suggested that Piers won't be on GMB for much longer.

While airing a clip of MP Andrew Bridgen's time on TalkRadio, Piers, who claims he's been banned from Government briefings, revealed that the MP said: "I don't really think shouting impresses everybody a great deal, to be honest.

I certainly won't be going back on the programme so he can do what he likes.

"His ratings are going through the floor, not surprisingly. He won't fronting that programme by Christmas."

Taking Bridgen's words to task live on Good Morning Britain on Thursday.

He blasted: "On the ratings front, which are apparently 'going through the floor', another of Mr Bridgen's claims that doesn't really bear scrutiny.

"This week, we've had the highest ratings in the history of our programme in six years."

I still think I'll be here at Christmas," Piers added.

"As I said online last night, I don't know how confident you're feeling but I'll be here at Christmas.

"That's probably quite likely. I'm contracted through to the end of next year."

"Why don't we have a bet for charity? I suggested £10,000," Piers said. Put your money where your mouth is."
