Piers Morgan finally gets to lounge by pool after moaning he couldn't use it in lockdown

Piers Morgan was delighted to soak up the sunshine over the weekend from the comfort of his swimming pool.

The 56-year-old TV star enjoyed the unseasonably sunny Bank Holiday Weekend – which saw temperatures in the UK rocket to 25 degrees centigrade.

Piers was able to kick back and enjoy the sunshine from his family swimming pool – which he flaunted seamlessly on Instagram.

The former Good Morning Britain star slipped into a pair of simple shorts and a light blue polo shirt as he enjoyed life by the pool.

He shared a photo of his own private garden on Instagram on Monday, showing the sun beating down on his plants, hedges and shimmering pool.

He captioned the moment: “What a beautiful day,” alongside two blazing flame emojis.

Meanwhile his son, Stanley, showed a photo of Piers reclining in the sun while scrolling on his iPhone.

The snap curiously showed a pair of swim shorts hanging in mid-air above Piers, who was grimacing at his phone.

Piers has previously expressed his love for his swimming pools – of which he has something of a collection.

Last year he was mocked after complaining about being unable to enjoy his pools during lockdown.

The star, back when he was a host on Good Morning Britain, had revealed he was bunkered down in his London home during lockdown – and had surrendered his country house in Sussex to his parents.

While he also has a luxury mansion in Los Angeles, with his portfolio of properties said to be worth £8.9 million.

Grumbling on GMB in July last year, Piers said: I've been in London now since March 14th. I have never been in one place, I don't think in my adult life as long as I've been in London."

Co-host Susanna Ried then asked him: "And how many of your properties would you have visited in that time?"

Piers then declared: "What I've discovered is a new fresh hell where you see other people using your swimming pools."

Susanna then mockingly asked, while overly dramatic sad music played: "Oh dear. How many swimming pool have you got?"

But Piers replied: "I'm not asking for sympathy. I'm just saying it's a new form of fresh hell... no sympathy required, it's just annoying.”
