Piers Morgan favourite to replace Simon Cowell on Britain's Got Talent

Piers Morgan is tipped to replace Simon Cowell for the Britain's Got Talent finals.

However this could lead to a very awkward reunion with David Walliams - who Piers has had a lot to say about recently.

Piers, 55, has a long-standing feud with David who has been on the panel since 2012.

Simon, 60, will miss the live finals after his horror accident on an electric bike which broke his back in several places.

Piers was a judge on BGT from 2007-2010 alongside Simon and Amanda Holden, until he was replaced by David, 49, when he moved to the US.

He has now been given odds of 5/4 to replace Simon this year, as Jessica O'Reilly of Ladbrokes said: "Piers is the perfect person to replace Simon during the remainder of Britain's Got Talent later on this year."

Meanwhile Cheryl's odds are at 2/1, with Jessica revealing: "We can't rule out Cheryl being lured away from the potential Strictly judging vacancy by Simon's megabucks."

Piers and David have made no secret of their dislike for each other, with Piers once saying David "makes his skin crawl".

He also claimed the show's ratings dropped when he was replaced by David, tweeting: "Amusing that ⁦@davidwalliams regularly ‘likes’ the nastiest tweets about me, yet is such a snivelling toady to my face."

"It’s not my fault @BGT ratings were so much higher when I was in your chair Dave!"

David's comedy partner Matt Lucas stepped in to defend him, writing to Piers: "Purely objectively - 1) He was probably being polite. Some people are.

"2) Boasting about the BGT ratings and popularity when you were briefly on it to someone who has not only transformed the show but is consistently the biggest-selling author in the country didn't work."

BGT has yet to comment on who will replace Simon.
