Piers Morgan fans in a spin after 'nation's prayers answered' tweet about Good Morning Britain

Piers Morgan is getting his fans going again after his latest tweet about his Good Morning Britain 'return'.

The ex-presenter of the ITV morning show stormed off after he was challenged by Bristol weatherman Alex Beresford over his comments about Meghan Markle.

Fans of the show have been divided since he left the show following the on-air row, with some claiming it's become a "snooze-fest" since he left while others say Alex is a "breath of fresh air.

But fans were not fooled by his tweet this morning - given April 1 is April Fool's Day.

He told his 7.9m followers: "Following the Archbishop of Canterbury's confirmation that Meghan Markle was talking a load of old flannel in her Oprah interview, ITV just offered me my @GMB job back & I've decided to accept.

"The nation's prayers have been answered. See you Monday!"

Since the post appeared shortly before 10am, it has received more than 4,000 replies, more than 16,000 likes and more than 1,100 retweets.

"Nice try Piers, but I wasn't born yesterday," replied one, while another added: "OMG I believed that then."

Others admitted they "fully fell" for the prank while another said they didn't find it funny because they wished it was true.

One woman added: "That is not a funny April fools joke, I actually got excited then."

Others said they "really wished this was true".
