Piers Morgan extends Good Morning Britain contract and issues defiant response to his critics

Piers Morgan has revealed some big news about his future on Good Morning Britain.

The outspoken host has been on a week's break from the ITV daytime how but ahead of his return alongside co-presenter Susanna Reid on Monday, he has announced that he has extended his GMB contract for another year.

Speaking to The Sun, Piers said: 'I’ve just signed a new contract up for GMB until the end of next year. I love working with Susanna and the team – we’re a Ying Yang that works."

Piers, 55, has sparked a lot of controversy during lockdown, ruffling feathers thanks to his heated clashes with MPs and rants against the Government when they have refused GMB's invitations to appear on the show.

His actions have prompted hundreds of complaints to broadcasting regulator Ofcom and even a petition to get him sacked from GMB.

But issuing a defiant response to his critics, Piers added: "If my style upsets people, don't watch! Watch something else. Nobody's forcing anyone to watch it.

"You've got a remote control in your hand, I really don't understand what the problem is.'"

Piers and Susanna have been missing in action from GMB this week but both will be back on the show on Monday, June 1.
