Piers Morgan explains his 'rough day' that involved 'swollen head' and 'eyes like pin heads'

Piers Morgan was left a little under the weather while presenting Good Morning Britain after enduring a particularly bad day.

Hosting today's episode of the show alongside co-host Susanna Reid, the presenter recalled his "rough day" that involved a "swollen head" and "eyes like pin heads".

While speaking to his co-host and resident in-house doctor Dr Hilary Jones, the 55-year-old ended up explaining everything that happened.

"Have you properly recovered from your sun stroke?" Susanna asked.

"Er, I had a rough day yesterday," Piers admitted while looking down at his notes.

"What was it - eyes like pin holes and a swollen face?" Susanna added, before laughing.

"Yes," he replied, "I had a swollen head and eyes like pin heads."

The presenter then jokingly said: "To be honest, they say I look like that on a normal day."

Dr Hilary laughed as Susanna quipped: "Well it is going to be a sunny start, Piers, so you better stay indoors."

GMB continues to air on ITV1 at 6am each weekday and will return July 1.
