Piers Morgan divides crowd by attacking Victoria Beckham over furlough decision

Raging Piers Morgan couldn't contain his anger again - this time launching an attack at Victoria Beckham because she reportedly furloughed 30 of her staff from her fashion line.

Piers thinks Posh Spice should re-consider using the government's furlough scheme because of her net worth of £335million.

The 46-year-old superstar has seen her fashion brand struggle in recent years and has recently issued letters to staff to let them know of plans to reduce salaries to 80 per cent in line with furlough procedures, Mirror Online reports.

And Piers - who has also hit out at football clubs, was furious after hearing the claims.

Responding to a Grazia video of Victoria introducing Elton John for #TogetherAtHome he called her out for the move.

He tweeted: "Sorry, but this makes me puke. If you care this much about the NHS, @victoriabeckham - then why are you taking taxpayer money the NHS desperately needs - and you DON’T need - to furlough your staff & prop up your failing business?"

Piers' post divided opinion, as some agreed with him - while others insisted Victoria has the right to furlough staff if she wants.

One fan posted: "No shame some people."

Another added: "The country is going to fall apart because of these kind of people."

But a third argued: "Why not she pays her taxes like everyone else??"

Another agreed: "Oh Piers, have you nothing better to do with your day, than get up to your old tricks with reporting rubbish."

If accepted, her staff will remain employed but 80 per cent of their wages can be claimed back from the government of up to £2,500 per month per employee.

A spokesperson for the Beckhams said: "We are working hard to ensure our much-valued Victoria Beckham team are protected during this unsettled time by keeping our business healthy.

"Having carefully assessed all our options, we made the decision to furlough a proportion of staff on an enhanced package."
