Piers Morgan denies he's ill as Good Morning Britain viewers worry about his 'cough'

Piers Morgan has been forced to reassure Good Morning Britain viewers after they worried about his persistent "cough".

Fans took to Twitter to voice their concerns about the TV presenter, 55, after they said he'd been coughing his way through Tuesday's episode.

But Piers said he'd simply been clearing his throat after not getting much sleep the night before.

This morning he had been discussing the news that Prime Minister Boris Johnson is in intensive care after his coronavirus symptoms took a turn for the worse last night.

Piers said: "Everyone has got to rally behind him now, no matter what you think about him he is fighting for his life, on a human level everyone has got to rally behind him.

"They wouldn't have given him one of those beds unless it was serious, that in itself is alarming."

And viewers couldn't help but notice that Piers appeared to be coughing through his speech.

One tweeted: "Morning guys. Is @piersmorgan okay? His eyes are red and he seems to have a cough of some kind.#StaySafe."

"Piers Morgan looks ill," another posted.

A third said: "I think Piers has got Corvid19 he has coughed about 10 times so far."

But Piers took to Twitter during an advert break on GMB to deny that he is sick.

A fan had tweeted him: "Are you feeling well, you've been coughing a bit this morning! Stay safe and keep yourself protected. Love GMB."
