Piers Morgan has urged President Donald Trump to delete a controversial post he shared on Truth Social following the tragic death of film director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer, both aged 68.
Trump’s message, posted earlier today, came just hours after news broke of the couple’s passing. While the President described the deaths as “very sad,” his message soon took a shocking turn. In a lengthy rant, Trump suggested that their deaths were linked to “anger he caused others” through what he referred to as “Trump Derangement Syndrome” (TDS).
Trump’s post read: “A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS.
“He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession with President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!”
The post immediately sparked outrage, with Morgan leading the charge against the message. “This is a dreadful thing to say about a man who just got murdered by his troubled son. Delete it, Mr President @realDonaldTrump,” Morgan wrote, expressing his anger on social media.
Morgan’s followers quickly voiced their agreement, with one supporter writing, “I am a big-time Trump supporter, and I agree with you, Piers. It’s not the time or place for that.” Another chimed in, “I agree. I couldn’t imagine being the type of human to even think like this when someone passes. Heartbreaking to say the least.”
Rob Reiner and his wife were found dead in their California home, reportedly victims of a stabbing. The Los Angeles Police Department is currently investigating their deaths, and their 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, has been arrested and remains in custody with a $4 million bail. The circumstances surrounding their deaths are still under investigation.
Reiner was best known for directing iconic films like Stand By Me and This Is Spinal Tap.
