Piers Morgan confirms when he'll return to Good Morning Britain amid high fan demand

Good Morning Britain will welcome Piers Morgan back after a short break, with many fans clamouring for his return.

Outspoken Piers' coverage of the ongoing coronavirus crisis has been both controversial and widely praised - and is in high demand among viewers.

When asked when when he'd be returning by a fan, Piers told he'd be back, alongside Susanna Reid, as soon as this coming Monday morning (1st June).

"Piers where are you we need your voice back on GMB," they wrote.

Piers came back: "I'll be back Monday with @susannereid100 & I suspect we're going to have a very lively show."

He's become renowned for his savage grillings of government ministers over their response to the crisis, from care homes to Dominic Cummings.

Following the Emily Maitlis controversy, in which the BBC anchor was deemed by the broadcaster to have "overstepped the mark" in comments made about Cummings, Piers teased that he wouldn't be nearly so restrained.

"If you want to see what real 'overstepping the mark' is, I suggest you tune into @GMB on Monday," he wrote.

"Emily told the truth & it's pathetic of the BBC to throw her to the wolves like this.

"Fortunately my ITV bosses are made of tougher stuff."

Emily had said in her Newsnight monologue that Cummings had broken the rules of lockdown and that the government were blind to it, a statement which flooded the Beeb with complaints.

Piers, too, has been met with complaints following a number of his interviews with government ministers.

Ofcom received stern words from nearly 300 viewers after his "humiliating" interview with MP Andrew Brigden.

During a heated debate over the government response to the care home crisis, Ofcom received a further 600 complaints as Piers laid into Care Minister Helen Whately.

Meanwhile, his brutal interview with Health Minister Matt Hancock ended with Piers branding him "disgraceful."
